The forecaster's hourly WEEK for Edmonton: hourly air temperature, dew point and cloud cover; by period the chance of precipitation, the amount range and type, wind speed range and direction, and gusts. FPWG16 runs to about +37 h, FPWG54 to the end of day 7. MSC's MeteoCode page: these files 'can be automatically retrieved with the Advanced Message Queuing Protocol (AMQP) as soon as they become available'.
LICENCE LINKED 2026-10-12 (owner: a licence link wherever possible): the record's terms are ECCC's Data Servers End-use Licence, cited. READS RECORDED 2026-10-12 (DECISIONS #42). The fetch ledger's first night (2026-10-11 evening edition) listed the Datamart files this subscription's announcements named under no record: the record's url is the AMQPS broker, and each announcement names the HTTPS mirror to fetch the file from (dd1 and dd2 that night; pipeline/sources/msc_amqp.py accepts dd and dd0-dd9). Announce-then-download is the pattern MSC's usage policy asks for. A mirror not listed here shows in the ledger as a read under no record. Queue q_anonymous.subscribe.edb-meteocode.edmontondailybrief, durable, x-expires 1 day; topic v02.post.*.WXO-DD.meteocode.pnr.csv (all Prairie and Northern zones), filtered to _(FPWG16|FPWG54)_r16.1_(TA|TD|PA|POP|WS|WG|CC).csv. Edmonton is filed under the WINNIPEG office's bulletins (FPWG), not FPNT. -9999 means missing and is refused by each element's physical bound. The far bulletin is dropped when it begins more than an hour after the near one ends.

Alberta mode is a guy from Edmonton commenting on the news, and the guy is a machine. One or two lines an item — what somebody who has lived here his whole life would say reading it out to his mates.
It is not the story. The headline above each comment is the real one, the source link below it goes to the real reporting, and the plain edition is one click away. He is not summarising anything and he is not a reporter; he is the guy at the shop with an opinion about it.
He swears when a sentence wants it. He is rude about council, developers, the province, the weather, the roads and the Oilers, and never about the people in the story. He holds about a dozen opinions that contradict each other and he is fine with that.
Some of it will sit wrong anyway. When it does, that is on us and we would rather hear it than not: corrections@edmontondailybrief.ca, and we will pull the line.
Two things get no comment at all, and they are not negotiable: anyone charged or before a court, who has a trial coming and is entitled to have us stay out of it, and a suicide. Anything you need to ACT on — a tip line, an advisory, an evacuation — keeps its full text underneath the comment, because a phone number does not go behind a joke.
The plain edition is the record, and it is the default. It is one click away and it is where you should check anything before you act on it.
