Notes

EPSB is Edmonton's largest school division (~117,000 students). School construction announcements, budget votes, boundary reviews, and trustee decisions are consistently strong local items. Meetings are audio-recorded and webcast live.

MODE feed ON PURPOSE since 2026-08-23: read as one entry per release by pipeline/sources/feeds.py LISTINGS (a dated list ('Sat, 22 Aug, 2026') with a teaser paragraph; a board statement posted 22 Aug 2026 never reached the paper as a watched page); as a watched page it could only ever say 'page updated', and never did. NO FEED OF ANY KIND. I got 404 on /rss, /feed, /wp-json/wp/v2/types. The /news/ page is only 20KB and my source scan found zero API/JSON/feed strings — it is likely client-rendered, so a plain HTTP scrape may return an empty shell; test with a headless browser before committing. Meeting pages follow www.epsb.ca<monthDDYYYY>/ (e.g. december92025) and move to /archived/<schoolyear>/ afterward — your scraper must handle that migration or links will rot. SECTION province -> schools 2026-08-24: this is Edmonton Public Schools. `schools` was on the duplicate row retired the same day, so until now the desk an EPSB item started on depended on which fetch finished first.
