Notes

The farm and ranch benchmarks on the markets board: beef, pork, wheat, rapeseed (canola) oil, barley and maize, monthly, in US funds.

RECORDED 2026-10-12 (DECISIONS #41): the owner accepted reading the IMF directly in place of FRED, whose terms forbid storing what its API returns. One request (lastNObservations=2, Accept: application/vnd.sdmx.data+csv;version=1.0.0); columns read by name. OPEN, FOR THE OWNER: (1) the base path is the IMF's documented SDMX API (data.imf.org/en/Resource-Pages/IMF-API: 'Our data are available through SDMX 2.1 and SDMX 3.0 APIs'), but the address itself appears only inside the IMF's signed-in developer portal, so it is documented rather than advertised to the public; the publicly advertised file is a 619 KB XLSX a release behind. (2) The IMF's general terms, which survive beside the data grant, say it 'prohibits bulk download of information by automated technology without explicit permission'; twelve numbers twice a day is not bulk on any reading found, and asking copyright@imf.org would settle it. (3) robots.txt on api.imf.org answers 502, so no rules could be read. The board's change column is computed from two IMF observations in the same answer; the farm group's note says so, as the IMF's terms ask of a transformation. The old host, dataservices.imf.org, no longer resolves (2026-10-12).
